There's no time like the present.
The Holiday Wine Guide, my favorite cookie recipe and a question about major habit changes in the new year.
I wrote about how to shop for holiday wines last month to prep you for all your big gatherings, refresh it for your next visit to the wine store.
For next week, I’m finishing a piece about sparkling wines (e.g. Champagne, Cava, Prosecco and all the other ones that aren’t any of those). Leave any questions you have about sparkling wines in the comments!
Read on for a few holiday links, and at the end I want to know what you think about Dry January.
I endorse:
A Legendary Christmas (John Legend’s Christmas album, and Tidal in general).
Martha Stewart’s Chewy Chocolate-Gingerbread Cookies. My #1 favorite cookie of all time year round, but will fit right in to any holiday cookie spread. If you think you’re under baking them you’re probably baking them just right.
Your moment of zen:
Holiday-themed images from the James Webb Space Telescope, which launched on Christmas morning two years ago. (It’s Christmastime in the Cosmos from The New York Times.)
What do we think about:
Dry January?
I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I love a good reset, but on the other, it doesn’t make sense to me to adopt a major lifestyle change unless you plan to keep it that way. What do you think? Do you partake in Dry January? Avoiding alcohol for the first few days after you blitzed yourself on New Year’s Eve doesn’t count.
Cheers,
